Among the models honored by the IIHS were the 2017 Hyundai Elantra and 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe as Top Safety Pick+ models, as well as the 2017 Hyundai Sonata, 2017 Hyundai Tucson, and 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport as Top Safety Pick models.
For those unfamiliar with the process, to be named either a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+, a vehicle needs to score top marks of "Good" on all five of the IIHS's major crash tests. It also needs to offer frontal collision prevention, preferably as standard equipment but at the very least as an optional add-on. The distinction between the standard Top Safety Pick designation and the TSP+ involves earning quality scores on headlights tests.
Each of these automobiles brings a lot to the table outside the arena of safety, but it's their strong safety scores that help make them among the most desirable offerings in the current Hyundai stable. If you'd like to test any of them out in person, come pay us a visit at Hall Hyundai Elizabeth City and one of our sales associates will be happy to get you behind the wheel so you can see for yourself just how safe these vehicles are.
