Knowing that, it came as no real surprise that the good people at Hyundai put together a completely new crossover to add to a model lineup that already includes the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, and the Hyundai Tucson.
The 2018 Hyundai Kona, due to arrive at Elizabeth City car dealers this spring, does not follow the overall aesthetic of those previous three models, which is to be expected considering that it also is smaller than its siblings. Primarily designed for what Hyundai calls "urban adventurers," this vehicle may be subcompact, but it's still plenty spacious and utilitarian, complete with optional all-wheel drive for those that need it.
It also comes with two engine options, both of which are both efficient and reasonably powerful. Furthermore, like several other new Hyundai vehicles, the 2018 Hyundai Kona is equipped with a host of advanced safety features that includes lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, and parking distance alert, among other things. Inside, there's a head-up display and an easy-to-use eight-inch infotainment system complete with navigation system.
While the Hyundai Kona has not made its way to Hall Hyundai Elizabeth City just yet, it will be here in a matter of weeks, ready to be test driven by those customers interested in jumping onto the crossover craze. Hyundai vehicles just keep on getting better, as the 2018 Hyundai Kona proves.
